I've seen K.S.E many times and they kick ass. The mosh pit was like a hail of fists and elbows.

After hearing the first single 'Starting Over', I was really excited and optimistic about this album and i am proud to say that i was justified. While i missed the blistering speed assault on some of this album that made up my favorite track of the last (This is Absolution) I found the slightly different direction of this disk to be refreshing and undoubtably enjoyable, better to take a chance on the new then to rot away with the old. The only real thing i didnt like was the albums name, it seemed to rushed but im comparison it nothing to this albums leap of faith.

I feel this was an overall great album. although i feel As Daylight Dies, is far superior. They seem to get better as times goes on, unlike some bands who get worse the more albums they do.

I preordered this album, slightly apprehensive about the "refreshing" that was done. The songs released were shorter by at least a good minute compared to average Killswitch songs, and seemed almost like a step away from metal. And it is. Away from JUST metal. Into something much more grand and majestic. The album has a couple flaws, such as nearly every song having a little "acousticy-echo" interlude after the second chorus, as first noted by the live performances of "A Light in a Darkened World." However, Howard Jone's vocals stand out so clearly and emotionally packed, that you almost are convinced one hundred percent sure he has been through every struggle he can sing about. Love, loss of family or loved ones, betrayal, and inspiring others to do the most they can. The album itself, as a physical copy, is also incredible. The artwork by Mike D'Antonio, is once again, incredibly abstract by all of the effects, but entirely comprehendable as an image. One in particular in the booklet stands out to me-- A snake in a patch of roses. There seems to be an animal theme of artwork on this album-- leapords, snakes, dragons, oh my! The bonus tracks are incredible in their own way. Hilarious when you listen to Adam D's remarks during these recordings. However, the Holy Diver live recording is quite disapointing. Jones' voice sounds so far off the mark, and faded, as though the mic had been covered by a cloth. Otherwise, this album is a masterpiece from every one of the five musicians who contributed, and though there are many more melodic parts to this playlist, and some songs are shorter, the enjoyment remains, as does the musicianship. As melodic as this album gets, during the moments it's not so, Killswitch Engage is twice as heavy. A definate album to pick up.

To me this is Killswitch's best album in my opinion, or just my favorite haha. I couldn't be more please with how it turned out and I have lost track on how many times I have listened to it, it will be playing in my car and in my house all the time! Im really impressed with Howard on this album though, he really took things up quite a few notches. Of course Joel and Adam D. blew me away and I love learning their riffs in this album. Justin's beats are just ridiculous and Mike D.'s rhythms on the bass are just straight up badass. Thanks Killswitch! Now come to AZ!
